KNOWN ISSUES - APPLICATION UPGRADE
Some users have reported issues after upgrade to newer versions of Softrace. Between version 0.9.2 and 0.9.3, we removed the copy protection from Softrace. In some cases, the removal has resulted in data access conflicts causing the application to 'force close' at startup. For those that are interested in details, this post explains it all. In short, the conflict is caused by a defect in Android 1.5. So far we have only seen it on HTC Hero devices, but others may be affected. Unfortunately, uninstall / install is the only way to recover. We share the frustration with you as we are using HTC Hero phones ourselves.
We are also sorry for anyone who has lost data during re-installation.

"Force close"
Some users have reported incidents where Softrace "Force close" while constructing new challenges. The reason this happens is the application running low on memory. The maps themselves consume a fare bit of memory, leaving the application with much less memory to play with than usual. To address this kind of problem, there's only one thing you as a developer can do. Consume less memory.
The most recent release, Softrace 0.9.3, uses significantly less memory than previous releases. This will eliminate the great majority (if not all) memory related program crashes. However, we have further improvements coming in subsequent releases that for sure will put an end to program restarts.
Please let us know how you are going with the newer versions of Softrace.
