"Force close"

Some users have reported incidents where Softrace "Force close" while constructing new challenges. The reason this happens is the application running low on memory. The maps themselves consume a fare bit of memory, leaving the application with much less memory to play with than usual. To address this kind of problem, there's only one thing you as a developer can do. Consume less memory.

The most recent release, Softrace 0.9.3, uses significantly less memory than previous releases. This will eliminate the great majority (if not all) memory related program crashes. However, we have further improvements coming in subsequent releases that for sure will put an end to program restarts.

Create a Challenge

CHALLENGE

Racing on a specific dedicated track! Create race tracks (challenges) and try to beat the high score. You can share your challenges or take on the challenges of other users! Live view on race progress (position in race etc.), location, distance, pace and more.

Challenge is a form of racing and one of the core features of Softrace. While the racing mode lets you compete anywhere in the world, challenges let you compete on real world courses. It could be compared with a pinball machine; one course and one high score for anyone to take on. But this time you physically will try to beat the high score in different motion based sports. In real time, in real life. You can easily create your own challenges and share them so that other users can try to beat the high score on your challenge.

A course is made up of a number of checkpoints where each checkpoint is the proximity of a given coordinate. The checkpoints are numbered and must be taken in order, starting with checkpoint »1«. A checkpoint is considered taken as soon as you have entered its proximity.

So, make a challenge of your favourite track and be among the first to share it with the world! All you need to know about getting started with "Challenges" is captured in the Softrace Help section on your handset.
